“And in the act of making things, just by living their daily lives, they also make history.
Knitting is clothing made in spare moments, or round the fire, whenever women gathered together... It's something to celebrate-clothes made in love and service, something women have always done.”
-Anne Bartlett When I was 7 years old I was in Brownies and, go-getter than I was, I wanted to earn every badge I could get. One of the many was my knitting badge. I remember asking my mom to teach me how to knit, and how delighted she was to pass on a skill that she enjoyed. I proudly made some hot pot holders for my grandmother, and proudly sported my badge on my full sash at Brownies soon after. Nearly thirty years later I sit here with a stash of knitting needles, balls of wool and a half-dozen knitting projects in the works. To say I have developed my own love for knitting is an understatement. It's therapeutic. It's healing. It's inspiring. It connects me to my roots. I have just begun creating my own patterns. You can find them in my Etsy Shop or by clicking on the pictures below. I would love to see your finished projects - whether they're from my patterns or not. Tag me in your own posts, or send me a message! Let's share the joy of knitting together.
